PAYMENT METHODS

Payment is preferred via PAYPAL.   All payments made through our shopping cart are secure, and any of your personal information is never shared with any third party.  Payments will be processed via Paypal using your credit or debit card.

Paypal/Credit card sales will be shipped to the credit card billing address ONLY.  NO EXCEPTIONS.  This is for your protection.

By law, we are required to collect sales tax for the State of California.  California Residents ONLY will be charged sales tax of 9.85% which will be added during check out.  If you supply us with a current California Sales Tax Permit ID # we will waive the taxes.

SHIPPING: 

All hats and clothing orders in the USA are shipped via USPS Priority Mail and fully insured with delivery confirmation.   Larger or heavy items have the option of being shipped via USPS Parcel Post, and books and ephemera go USPS Media Mail/Book Rate unless otherwise requested.   Shipping costs are calculated using USPS shipping costs and are based on the value of the parcel.  Please see our shipping calculator.  Insurance is included in all shipping costs, and delivery confirmation is added on all USA Domestic mail parcels. 


INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS! VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:    International customers please inquire as to shipping costs PRIOR to making your purchase and payment.     Shipping varies widely, based on your country and USPS weight and shape/size limitations of the parcel.   International orders are shipped via USPS Priority or First Class International.  Priority Mail has tracking, first class has no tracking.   We will not ship any International orders unless shipping charges have been paid in full.   We will cancel any orders placed without shipping charges paid.  We are not responsible for any Customs charges.  ABSOLUTELY NO RETURNS on International orders.   We are not responsible for customs charges, taxes, duty, or fees of any kind.  ITALY has specific requirements, and please contact prior to making any purchases if you live in Italy.  Please contact us if you have questions.   Thank you.

We ship twice a week and try to be timely with shipments.   However, we are a small cottage business.  If you need a special rush on your order please contact us and we will accommodate you if at all possible.    NOTE: We are not responsible for any delays or damages caused by the US Postal Service or other selected carriers.  Express shipping (FedX, USPS Express Mail, UPS) can be arranged at the buyer’s additional cost,  please inquire prior to purchase.   Damage claims must be made by the purchaser against the carrier, and we will not be responsible for any claims to said parcels.

Items are sold on a first come first serve basis.   This is to be fair to all of our customers.  Please be aware that items may have been sold prior to your calling in your order request.  upon confirmation by us of receipt of your order and availability of item/s,  goods will be HELD for 5 days to await payment by mail.   Items will be marked “On Hold”  but will not be taken down from the site until payment is received and cleared.  If payment in full is not received in 5 days, or if you haven’t contacted us with any delays, the item WILL be put back in stock and offered for sale.

We will not process any “call in” or “e-mail” or “hold” orders/payments that have not been confirmed by us.  PLEASE DO NOT mail payments until we confirm the order via telephone or e-mail.  Payments mailed in without confirmation from us will be regretfully and promptly returned.   Thank you.

LAYAWAYS:

LAYAWAYS:   NO RETURNS/REFUNDS on initial deposit or any portion of any Layaway payments or items held for more than 7 days for full payment.  NO EXCEPTIONS.

* No layaway available for items UNDER $200
* Layaways UNDER $500 requite an initial deposit of 1/3 and must be paid in full    including shipping costs within 30 days order date. 
• Layaways on items OVER $500 must have an initial deposit of 1/3  be paid off in full within 60 days of initial order date and go no longer than 30 days without an installment payment.

• NOTE:  If items are not claimed and paid for in full within these specified time frames,  they will be put back in the shop and offered for sale.  Sorry, but….NO REFUNDS ON LAYAWAY DEPOSITS PAYMENTS either partial or in full!!   So…..We ask that you please make sure you will be able to pay in full before placing a layaway order.

RETURNS/EXCHANGES:

ALL SALES ARE CONSIDERED FINAL.  Standard Vintage Clothing Industry Rules apply on this website.   Antique and vintage Hats and clothing are not returnable unless a gross error has been made and only at our discretion and in agreement to terms.  Please ask if you questions prior to making a purchase, as we want you to be happy with your purchase.  We do not accept returns if a hat or garment does not fit you, Or the color or style is not what you expected.  These items are antique or vintage garments and as such are not sold with any guarantee of their being wearable as they are considered collectible historical items.  Hats and garments cannot be worn and then returned, we are not a costume rental agency.   In the exceptionally rare case a return is accepted, and upon prior approval from us, we will exchange your merchandise for store credit ONLY.   Shipping is always non-refundable and there are no exceptions.

For a return/credit you MUST e-mail us within 2 DAYS of confirmed post office delivery date to inquire if an item will be accepted for a return.   If we approve the item for a return, you must must mail the item via Priority Mail back at your costs within 3 DAYS of delivery date and it must be received in the EXACT same condition as we mailed it to you.   Buyer is responsible for all return shipping charges and parcel must be fully insured at full value with delivery confirmation added by the buyer.   Please notify us of a pending return prior to returning any items. We will NOT accept any returns that have been prior approved by us.   

If you do not contact us VIA E-MAIL within 2 DAYS from the CONFIRMED POST OFFICE DELIVERY DATE TO YOU , NO refunds will be issued.   NO EXCEPTIONS.  

NO RETURNS/REFUNDS on ANY INTERNATIONAL Sales. NO EXCEPTIONS.  We are not responsible for items shipped Internationally once they leave our hands. 

NOTE:   Many antique items are delicate and fragile due to their age.  Please be careful and respectful when handling.  No exceptions to the “received in same condition” requirements.   We will not accept a return or process any credit or refunds on damaged or obviously worn items!   We will not refund on damaged goods.  If we receive an item that has been damaged, or obviously worn, stressed, or altered in ANY way, the return is VOID and the item will be returned to you.

DAMAGED GOODS:   All items are described in full detail as far as condition and accurately, and thoroughly inspected by us and documented by a third party prior to shipping, therefore any damage other than as detailed in the items description page must be claimed by the buyer against the shipment carrier.  Insurance claims must be processed by the buyer, and we will be happy to assist you in the processing of any claims if needed. 

CONDITION:

I describe all items thoroughly and to the best of my ability.   My descriptions are lengthy and I look for every possible detail.  I have over 30 years experience selling vintage clothing and I have very high standards far as condition.

On very rare occasion there may be a small detail or flaw that we miss, but this is not grounds for a return.  Antique clothing and hats are previously owned and unless described as MINT they may or will show signs of previous use and wear.   These are considered “used” garments and it is unrealistic to expect them to be perfect or as durable as a new garment.   If this is a concern we ask that you please do not purchase our vintage and antique garments.    

There are accepted Industry Standards in the Vintage Clothing Business and we abide by them as closely as possible:

If you decide to wear your vintage garment, please do so with care and please be gentle, regardless of condition. 

NEAR MINT – Rare to Find.  No noted flaws. 

EXCELLENT – May show very mild signs of light to normal wear or signs related to the item’s age or construction.  May have fragility due to age, and subtle signs of wear, but no noticed flaws, and no repairs required.

VERY GOOD –  May show light wear or signs expected for age with the possibility of minor problems visible and noted, but problems will not detract and most/all can be repaired or lessened with little effort. 

GOOD –   May have noticeable flaws but is in overall good acceptable condition and the structure is overall intact.  May need light repair or restoration. 

FAIR to POOR  –  Noticed flaws evident.  Best for display, parts, pattern, or study purposes or for its rarity or historical value.

As part of the ordering process, the following standard information is collected from you:  Name, Shipping/Billing Address, E-mail address, Telephone number and Credit/Debit Card Information. 

Your information will not be shared with 3rd parties or in any way other than to fill an order or to contact you the buyer if necessary.
