Fabulous! is the word for this vintage 1940’s chapeau by legendary American milliner and fashion designer, Hattie Carnegie. Featuring a simply stunning ivory white double ostrich plume that is frilly and full, cascading down the side of the hat and anchored with a silk passementerie embellishment medallion on the top of the hat. This is a true TILT hat, meant to be worn at a strong tilt forward, to create the cascade effect of the plumage. Made of velvety soft black felt, in a sort of bell-boy shape, with an “O” ring of felt in the back to secure the hat at any angle.
This dates from circa 1939 to 1944, and is definitely a hat that will get you attention.
Condition is very good. Clean. The ostrich plume has no shedding. The hat may show light signs of previous use, light wear to the O ring but slight..
