A real Head turner! Stunning vintage chapeau by Haute Couture Designer Christian Dior. A HUGE explosion of long, curvy, luxurious Coque ruff feathers in glossy black with hues of greens, blue and purple. The feathers are supple and rich looking, smooth and shiny and create a halo effect round the entire hat. Vintage is 1964-1965. One size fits most, as the base of the hat is a cozy and soft, tightly knit red fabric that stretches a bit to fit snug on the head, and is doubled in front for a secure fit.

I can see this worn in the mid 1960’s to a Discoteque in London, or to dinner at 21 in New York City, with a ” little black dress” and black stiletto heels, and maybe add some long black gloves for evening attire. Or maybe for a scene from Breakfast At Tiffanys…..a true Madmen Era couture hat.
Truly an astounding chapeau from a classic French Couture design house, and a rare pinpoint of 1965 style. . A must have for any serious hat collection.
Excellent condition with no shedding or loose feathers, no soiling, no missing feathers, inside is clean and fresh. No doors or marks to the hat. Feathers are soft and supple and glossy. Knit is excellent, tight and soft. A little bit of age marks to the label, but it is not really a flaw to the hat. Almost as if never even worn…just beautiful!
