Antique Heart Shape Felt & Feather Millinery Trim
Charming, genuine antique millinery trim, made of black felt, stuffed and stitched into a sweet little heart shape! The heart is fat and firm, and from the top juts out a large spray of pretty, bright emerald green glossy feathers! Rising from the feather bouquet’s center is a sort of antennae of stripped ostrich flues which curl inwards. I show the trim placed on my own top hat, to give an idea of the scale. The trim dates from the late Edwardian period to WWI era. It measures 9″ tall from bottom of the heart to tip of the curled flues.
Condition is good, with some mild age to note. The felt heart is very good, not soiled or worn, no moth bites or holes, and the green feathers are glossy and are not shedding. One of the curled flues has some bends in it but it is not broken.
