1940s Red Heart Valentine Hat
The sweetest, fluffy frilly Valentine Red Heart Hat! Vintage is 1938-1942, and this would be perfect for your Valentine Swing Dance, or to give as gift to that special someone.
Tilt style, this is what was referred to as a “doll” or “toy” hat, and has a wide blue grosgrain ribbon strap across the back so the hat can be worn at the most extreme angle you choose.
Label reads “The Derry Dean Hat”, Original Fashion Themes, Paris, New York. One sits fits all. the charming little topper is made of a unique cherry red raffia type material that resembles crispy chenille or tiny florals…quite unusual. The center is a dark blue grosgrain ribbon faille fabric, with a stick up tail of ribbon.
CONDITION: GOOD. The hat shows some signs of age and previous use, as you can see in the photos, but is still a lovely hat that can be worn and looks beautiful. Some mild dust and age, but it is not torn or ripped and does not look soiled. The color has faded a bit, but it still looks lovely. No missing trims, no odors. The inside ribbon band has mild age but is intact. This hat is vintage and shows some mild age flaws, looks a bit tired up close, but is still a lovely vintage hat that is quite unusual, hard to find and a great addition to a collection or to wear.
