1920s Silk Ribbon Millinery Flowers
Lovely, 1920’s antique ribbon work millinery flowers embellishment! Long flowing and movable stem with peachy-tangerine hued flowers and green tinged leaves, expertly hand made of silk ruched French ribbon, sating piping, and edged with gilt gold metallic trim. Centers are gold silk floss. NEVER USED and in MINT condition….A rare beauty!
Measures 11 1/4″ long from top to bottom. The large flower is 3 7/8″ wide, and each oval flower “pod” is approx. 3″ long and 2″ wide. Longest leaf is 4 1/2″ long. This is flexible, can be moved and arranged to fit your desired pattern space. Wonderful for millinery uses, on a vintage Flapper hat, sewn to a Flapper’s Robe de Style Frock or dress, or other creative altered art uses.
Backed with buckram, from which it can be snipped/removed if desired. A lovely antique millinery trim for your collection.
EXCELLENT MINT condition…well stored and kept wrapped in tissue for over 80 years, it has no flaws to note. Super clean and fresh, no soiling or dryness, no odors, no frays or snags. The silk is wonderful, no fading or flaws. The gilt has that desired aged patina and is lovely. Supple and excellent!
